At Maverick Motorcycle Adventures, it’s what we do.

For years, nearly everyday of the riding season my friends and I have looked at each other and said “Where are we going today?”. Invariably, somebody says, “There&Back?”. For a new guest listening to our friendly banter, it would be impossible to know how special that sentiment is to fellow riders. In our world it means... ”The final destination isn’t critical. We always arrive in a special place. Let’s just have a blast getting there.” We love the adventure of looking into the sky and determining when the sun will set and which cloudbank offers the best odds of not getting us soaked. Decades of riding and miles in the saddle relate to an extensive knowledge of local roadhouses for refueling or dodging a brief rain shower. We are only satisfied after watching the sunset over some spectacular vista. Colorado’s famous blue sky days keep making each adventure UNFORGETTABLE!!!

Our overnight adventures are times when we string together a few nights to ride more “Far&Away” mountain passes that leave us breathless. Our routes pass drop-offs into deep river canyons and round corners revealing majestic alpine meadows. We ride into quiet little towns and sleep at historic hotels or lodges. Stops along the way include old saloons dating back into 1800’s Colorado mining history. The characters we often meet are as colorful as the sunsets.

We have taken special note of intersections where gravel roads depart the pavement to pass by gorgeous alpine lakes or abandoned mining camps that are not even shown on a road map.  Returning later to explore any unfamiliar forest access, the sense of freedom we feel makes the adventure seem like there are “No Boundaries” to where we can take our dual-sport bikes. Sleeping under the stars and waking up to an equally spectacular sunrise is the ultimate mountain escape. Some of the crew prefer camping near enough to a town to simply ride in for coffee and breakfast, while the most rugged adventurers catch their dinner in Gold Medal waters and prepare it on basic cooking supplies stowed on their bikes. The next day’s ride takes us even deeper into the backcountry.
As you contemplate where YOU want to go today, leave the details to Maverick. Let us show you an unconventional approach to adventure riding through the Rocky Mountains. Pay attention, you may never pass this way again!
